I"ve done all my rainy weekend maintenance and also ordered a sylvania silverstar ultra bulb for my headlight. Just wondering if I should order a porcelain plug for it or will the original be ok. Thanks, Ray.

What's the wattage on it? I melted my stock connector with an 80/100w bulb. Patched in a ceramic as a temporary measure and now I'm converting to HID (35w).
And I melted the standard connector with a standard bulb. I had to bodge it up at the side of the road and kept it like that for years. Porcelain bulb holders ???? I didn't even know they were available.
I did not know that there might be an issue with the OEM socket, when using the higher wattage bulbs! I need to remove the light bucket, to realign the adjuster shoe with the adjustment rod, and will upgrade to the ceramic socket. May not need the change, but insurance is often cheaper than the accident.
