CaptainJoe Posted November 23, 2014 Share #1 Posted November 23, 2014 Is it worth the effort installing a HD stator and voltage regulator? Have seen quite a few instances where it didn't work out. Need as I purchased Gerbing heated gear . Or can I reduce my voltage draw sufficiently by going to Led?
bongobobny Posted November 23, 2014 Share #2 Posted November 23, 2014 Uhhhh, yes, and yes! HO stators have a shorter life than standard ones, and there are good and bad aftermarket R/R's out there, but if you get it right you will have plenty of reserve power! Switching entirely to LED lights will save more than enough power for your heated gear...
etcswjoe Posted November 23, 2014 Share #3 Posted November 23, 2014 I was one of the ones that had bad luck with the "High Output" ones so I went the LED route, headlight, taillight etc.
CaptainJoe Posted November 24, 2014 Author Share #4 Posted November 24, 2014 Thanks guys... That's what I thought. You wouldn't happen to have notes on exactly what you bought handy would you... Thanks Joe
