Hazard flashers on the cheap

I just added 4 way hazard flashers to my 96 RSTD. I used THESE LED pods and a cheap LED flasher unit that I also bought off ebay. Cost was $7.18 for the pods, shipped, $1.50 for the flasher, shipped, and a buck for the switch. Total...under 10 bux.

But an RSTD does not have 4 way flashers from the factory???

I always thought that was a requirement to be street legal???

Nope. It's a 96 model. My friend has an 02 Road Star. I don't believe it has them, either. As far as I know, they aren't required, at least in Missouri.

RSTD's do not have 4-way flashers.

I guess I learned sumpin new. I never had a vehicle without 4 ways from the factory. I just ass-u-me-ed they were the law.

The Venture has them, so does my ZRX1100, but all the other bikes I've owned did not.

Hey, I have a 2005 RSTD with NO flashers.

I couldn't believe it.

I'd do it, but not too good with electricity stuff, you know, the stuff that runs like water.

Of the bikes with flashers, I NEVER used them..............so I don't miss them on the RSTD!

I've never used mine either for fear of running the battery down. It's a big bike to push by your self. Although one time I left the key on by mistake and didn't have enough power to turn the starter but thankfully I was parked on a hill. Got her rolling down hill, clicked her into 2nd gear and released the clutch and off I was back down the road again!

That's the beauty of LED lights. They can be on forever without running the battery down. I've seen guys with the LED accent lights leave them on for hours at rallies without worry.

I've ridden in several charity runs where they request that you run 4 ways if you have them.
