DLJSNGWRTR Posted April 18, 2017 Share #1 Posted April 18, 2017 (edited) Hello VR, To start, great website and will gladly pay $12 when this trial runs out. Here's my dilemma. I bought a used bike listed in the title here thinking it needed carbs rebuilt. It had 7800 miles on it. After the shop rebuilt my carbs it still shakes like crazy in 4th and 5th gear at 70mph when I roll on the throttle. It's definitely one cylinder not keeping up. I took it back and they did a compression and leak down test. Compression was 210 on 3 cylinders and 170 on the bad one. Leak down was less than 10% on 3 cylinders and greater than 30% on the bad one. Shop labor is $960 minimum to pull the engine and find the problem. Open for suggestions folks. Kind of at a loss here. Some folks tell me burnt valve. Others say no way at those miles. Maybe a head gasket? Tell me your thoughts. Thanks for your help! mm482 Posted April 21, 2017 Share #2 Posted April 21, 2017 I would check the valve clearance on that cylinder. You many have a valve too tight. Earl
