Sheradan Posted November 4, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 4, 2009 What is the best way to do a twin antenna setup on a 1st gen? I have them both with extra mount. Should I run 1 antenna to the CB and eleminate the splitter, and the other directly to the stereo? Or go 2 into 1, then into the splitter?
utadventure Posted November 4, 2009 Share #2 Posted November 4, 2009 The splitter is a challenge for the CB to function well. When I did mine, I ran an antenna to each the radio and the CB and eliminated it. It made matching the CB antenna to the CB much easier. saddlebum Posted November 5, 2009 Share #5 Posted November 5, 2009 The splitter is only there to be able to run two devices off of one antenna . It is actually a compromise. A separate antenna for each (and get rid of the box ) is an improvement to say the least.
warthogcrewchief Posted November 5, 2009 Share #6 Posted November 5, 2009 How would one remove the splitter and install two new anntenna wires? I've got everything apart right now for my rebuild as I do the body work, so it should be fairly easy as I begin to rebuild everything. Thanks, WHCC
