Sluggish starter button- 84 VR

The handlebar starter button seems slow to pop back out when I release it. Is that normal or can I spray some sort of electric contact cleaner on the button to free it up?

WD40 or Deep Creep would be my recommendation.

Better yet, as you are in WI..... just bring the scoot to the Pork in the Pines and we will clean that switch for you...... (It may never work again after we get through with it. But think of the great time and the good folks you will meet)
