It's not the cold that kills the batteries but the off season NEGLECT. My snowmobile battery lives just fine. Same YTX20 as our RS's...
Now trying to educate the masses, good luck to ya. EXCELLENT advice about running the starter once the voltage gets low.
I've always gotten 6-7 years from my MC, ATV, Snowmobile batts. with proper care. Hope the AGM's I'm using now can top that.... we'll see.
