y.i.c.s chamber

ok yall help me out here....can anyone tell me what purpose is the y.i.c.s chamber for and what does it do. when i got my 1st gen. venture 1 of the nipples was broke off and no kind of epoxy would hold it on. yamaha says that its an obsolete part, and i finally got 1 from pinwall cycle but im just wondering what its for.

In the '83 sales literature, they said that it was supposed to increase the low speed gas mileage.

Dont really know, I do but i dont know how ta splainit. Took mine off and did the Jason mod, saves me 1/2 Lb. of weight overall and added about 47 Mph to my top speed...............WOW :o.

BTW, read the disclaimer at the bottom; but I really did do the jason mod and got rid of the chamber. And I'm satisfied with the performance. I average between 38 - 43 Mpg depending on how I ride.
