It would be hard to find a better product for cleaning your motorcycle windshields. Check out Plexus. They have been a generous contributor of door prizes for a couple of our VentureRider VentureIns.

I know it's supposed to be the best for windshields, but can you put it on the fairing and lowers painted surfaces? I'm getting ready to leave this evening to head up to snarley's (gonna be wet the whole way up I think) and am hoping the Plexus will help bead the rain off of the shield

Was just wondering where you were. Should have known how to get you out Grasshopper.
Bike coming along slowly. Seems everything in the world is trying to keep me from riding this year. AIN'T HAPPENING!!
If anything else goes wrong with that Clunker I may go look at a 2nd Gen!!!
Just to remind me how good I got it!!:rasberry:

Just got through putting it on the whole bike. Man, that stuff made the windshield look brand new. Puts a nice shine to the chrome too. Loving it so far.

When I got my '84 I thought the windshield was a goner. Swirls so bad you couldn't run into the sun at all. Tried Plexus before I coughed up bucks for a new shield and haven't replaced it yet. Cleaned up nice and still looks good after two years of Plexus. I use it on the fairing also. Makes washing the buggies off a snap.

I have been using Plexus for a couple of years for the whole bike. I always carry a small can in my saddle bag along with a water soaked towel to clean the critters off the windshield before I use the Plexus. Also have a spray bottle of Bugs Be Gone for the stubborn ones!

Ben Gay...lol My 88 rides like im on a magic freaking carpet, a very fast carpet. Its smooth as glass all the way up to 85+. Thats as far as I have taken her up to, so far. Handles better than the 500cc magna I had years ago. Your young punk yammy would be hard pressed to match what this "grown man" bike can do. Looks kooler too ....:nanner:

Plexus sounds like great stuff. Anybody know where it is sold, particularly here in Canada?

Most large dealers should carry it. I got mine at Blackfoot Motor Sports in Calgary and have seen it at Argyle Motor Sports in Edmonton. It's great stuff, use it all the time on paint and windshield.

So how does Plexus work in the rain for getting the water droplets off the windshield?
Has anyone compared it to Spectra which is supposed to be very good in that regard?

At low speeds prowling around town it beads up but don't shed that well. In a mist, forget it. But then again RainX on glass isn't all that hot in a mist either at lower speeds.
At highway speeds it sheds off pretty well. Works ok by me and I'm judging it against RainX on glass. I've been using that on my cars and trucks for years.
I use Plexus on my visor to so it helps keep that clear.

Check out "Can Do". I think it's only sold online...google it. Good stuff and cheaper then Plexus. I have both and can't see that one is better than the other.

Thanks. Just got back from the Yamaha dealer and they had large and small spray cans of Plexus. So got a small (10oz) can of Plexus to try. Will try some of the other brands in turn to see what I can discern.

I have used Plexus for years and recommend it. One thing to be careful of is to make sure you use a soft cotton towel to make sure you are not leaving a film on the windshield.
