Started polishing the front wheel tonight. I think about 5 hours and 20 bucks will get it as close to chrome as it can be without the chrome cost. Lower part was done in about 30 minutes
Used a course steelwool then a fine and finally the Diamond Brite Truck box polish from Lowes. You can see the results in the pics. I did not do the painted part and probably won't as you can hardly see it with the hub cap on.

Nice job, took my front wheel off and put the buffer to it, took about 1 hour for just the edge, course then I got a 1st gen. Trick is to keep it looking good, any wild ideas out there?

What did you use to get the clear coat off Buddy? Looks good. Rod

Used the course steelwool then the fine steelwool. Actually that's the only reason I used the steelwool. Also only used the fine on the small lip right next to the painted surface. That way I did not remove the clear coat off the paint. The polish does a good job by its self on the alum once you get down to it.

I do the other side of that wheel while you work on installing my passing lights!!!????Is that a fair trade off Buddy? I think I'll just worry about doing my white wall and leave it at that. For passing light's, I think polishing your whole bike should be fair, sorry Rick.........I know how you like cleaning a bike, lol. :whistling: I've struck out the last two times, it rained on me as soon as I washed the bike.:buttkick:
