There has been a venue change as far as the meeting place for the Spring Jax M&E. We will be meeting at:

Sat, May 8th, 2010
Time: 1 PM
Clarks Fish Camp
12903 Hood Landing Road
Jacksonville, Florida 32258
904-268-FISH

http://www.clarksfishcamp.com/Default.aspx

After eating at Mojo's today a change was made from Mojos BBQ as the quality of their food has taken a nosedive. Less portions, poorer quality sides and poorer service. To me it indicates a slide in their business and eventual closing looming. Not my idea for a good meet and eat.

Clarks has been around for a long time and they have quite an extensive menu as well as a scenic view. Its been a while since I was there..maybe 8 months but the food has always been great. Its a little off the beaten path but worth the hunt. :smile5:
See you all in May!!:smile5:

Still be there. Hey what's that thing about no sharing on their menu. We can't taste test everyone's food? Or we can only do that with folks we came with?

We will be there, according to map quest about a 5 hour drive (300 miles) but factor in at least one stop for gas, pee break for people that drink mud, and throw in a stop or two for smokes :stirthepot::stirthepot:

Hell we better leave at midnight to get there by noon :crying::crying:

its 412 miles for me. I'm thinking I'll ride down on Friday and spend 2 nights in the area.

I'll have my 2000 MM RSV by then, so if there's no major work that it needs, this will be its first M&E ride after bringing it home. I'm keeping my Tour Deluxe at least for a while but it may go to the classifieds once I have a positive feel for the RSV.

I've made a reservation at a Motel 6 on I-95 about 4 miles from the Clark's restaurant. $36/night for a 2 bed room Reservations friday and sat nights. That was as cheap as the campgrounds I looked at nearby.

I have a room with 2 beds if someone wants to share the room...

Well about 294 miles 5hours 19min for me per Mapquest taking US 17 to I4 To I95. Likely longer figuring fuel and necessary breaks and a more interesting route. Have Friday off so won't be in a hurry. Looking forward to going.

always base your ride time by 50, so for 400 miles / 50 8 hours in saddle plus stops
this is the average we use while traveling. its about dead on.

Would like to attend to meet everyone, but will be over there a week later. Will be trying to iron butt it over to Titusville on the 13th. Going to the shuttle launch on the 14th. Will be heading back to Houston either after the launch or on the 15th. The wife and I just caged that route the weekend of the 3rd to see the last launch. Wanted to ride then, but she didn't, so I am going back by myself. Everyone have a safe ride and a great M&E.

Hey it's just above FL though. For me to get there I'm driving to northern VA thursday, then jump on the back of Riderduke's bike we head to SC for friday. Sat we head to florida spend the night there (as far as I know) and then sunday ride back up to VA then monday I drive back to NC. So no complaints now. You can go and get home in plenty of time for mother's day. Plus if you make the presents good they won't mind you going somewhere on saturday. Hope that helps.
I won't even get into the biggest state theory.

Oh almost forgot 9 days to go.

Hi Everybody,

I was supposed to on my 4 week ride across America and be near Vancouver B.C. right now but due to the weather last week, Tornado's, floods and 2' of snow I had to delay my big ride...

Since I'm still here at home in Buford GA I am going to ride down in the morning.. via Hwy 441.. I'm going to ride my BMW R1100RT on a test ride, I need to see if I can ride 500 to 600 miles a day on it before I leave for my big ride across America later this month..

If I can't make 600 a day I guess it'll be the Venture, I can do 700 a day on her so I'm going to figure it out tomorrow what bike will be the best..

I'm looking forward to a good lunch and seeing everyone again! Then I will ride back home after lunch,

Ride Safe and see you soon!

Unfortunately, I was home with a seriously nasty sore throat, congestion and a very runny nose. Janis and I both started feeling poorly Thursday morning, and by Friday night it was full-blown. I actually got up Saturday morning, got dressed, got the bike out of the garage and was warming it up; about that time I also got nauseous.

As much as I wanted to be there, I made the only smart decision available and headed back to bed. We are both a bit better today, but still have a way to go.

I'm delighted to hear the Event was successful and that everyone had a great time. Special Thanks, especially to Ruffy, for his efforts in coordinating this Joint Venture and to everyone that was able to make it!
