Second generation venture

If I wanted to buy a second generation venture, are there any model years or serial number range that anyone would recommend staying away from? I currently have a
89 venture royal that has been down since late apirl when i had to start looking for
an igniter. I have one now but it is still not back on the road. I am seriously considering
going to something say 1999 or newer.

All the 2nd gens are basically the same from 99 up. Mine has been maintenance free but does have the so called clutch whine..not that noticible unless you stay fixed on it.

The only things that have changed between 99 and 09 are the colors, seats, and 09 comes with a factory CD changer.

The 99's had some problems with trunks cracking. They fixed that in the 2000 model.
