Will a 97 v-max final drive fit an 03 midnight venture and if so is it worth the swap? Thank you.

It will bolt up, but there is no mount on it for the speedo pickup. However, you could take it to a good machine shop along with your stock rear end and have them machine a mount into it. I actually have such a unit on my 99. The guy I got it from had a machine shop bore the hole and machine the mounting area so it could work. Does a great job.
The other option, as I understand it, is to actually swap out the gears between the two housings. I have read a write-up somewhere on doing that. It may have been on the venturers.org website, not sure.

Do a search. There is someone who will do the work for you at a cost. Not sure what what it costs. I think Freebird had this done as well as several others.
It's supposed to give you shorter gears and get the bikes rpm's in the right powerband at 70MPH if I am not mistaken. It's better for towing bikes and mountain riding.
