Carb cover

I was tooling through the J and P cycles book the other day.. came across a different carb cover than what Yamaha offers... anyone ever put one on the bike?

I can not find this in my Vol 4 J&P catalog. What page is it on?

That looks nice - Does it fit the RSV? That might be the ticket to add a little extra zing to the engine area.

would this fit ours? it says royal star.. perhaps not..

That has to fit. We have the only V-fours out there that are Royal Stars. The V four version is sold in pairs for $150! Maybe I'll wait on these, but dang it I want a set.

the only problem i see is what about your choke? I would assume this fits right in that area....

Wouldn't the choke be in the same spot on the RS?

The Royal Star Tour Deluxe has the choke knob in the same place according to the photos on Yamaha's website. So I guess the question is how the heck are these supposed to work on the v-4 engine?

I went to Barrons Custom Accessories wesite - the real vendor for this product. They claim the mini teardrop covers with the V-four engraving fits teh 1996-2001 Royal Stars. Those are not the RSV's. When you search Barrons site by model and select the Venture this part does not show up. The picture posted by Eric is from Barrons. That engine is a Yamaha V-four, but it's a slightly different version than the one on the RSV and Tour Deluxe.

So, this won't fit our bikes. That sux, but I save $150 by not buying them.

That is on a Royal Star. But the tank is different and the carbs on the RSV are heated, I don't know if it will make a difference but looking in the 2001 Star catalog the RS & RSV carb covers are way different.

Gary is right the Royal Star and the RSV covers are different. I had a set off a RS and they will not work on the RSV :(

the carb covers are differant between the 96- 01 royal stars and the 99-07 venture and 05-07 tds.

They were originally from Atascadero Ca, but moved to Shoshone ID via Las Vegas Nev. My daughter and David are in the home construction biz, and own a Dry Wall Company.

Don't think we are any relations, all my people came from Eastern Kentucky, Southern West Virginia and Western Virginia. And most of them still live there.:2133:
