Try Rick at www.buckeyeperformance.com (http://www.buckeyeperformance.com) , He has all the parts you need and carries the steel cables made for the 1st gens.
Good to deal with too.

Wayne,
Rick at Buckeye is a good source for the braided lines and EBC HH pads are a real good set to use, have 'em on the '99 and I'm very pleased with them.

Like Brad said, EBC HH brake pads. The ones I got were that plus they said "Superbike". It has made a huge difference in stopping my 83. It was part of my upgrade in pulling the camper.

Thanks Guys,:322: I'll try the "EBC HH" I'll check with a local shop to see if he's got what I need in stock. If they haven't I'll shop the net to compare with Rick.:)wayne

The kevlar type stop you quicker but wear quicker. I have just replaced mine with sintered type pads. Stops really well now. I had the kevlar type in before, once they wear down there is little stopping power.

EBC HH pads are the only break pads I'll use, I will try others but alway go back to EBC. Don't have to be HH I believe HH is higher heat (Heat I think)

On the steel braided hoses I use nothing but. The thing I like about them is that the lever and pedal are much firmer. On rubber hoses when you squeeze they expand a little and kind of loose a little of the force. Because of the Steel braid the Steelbraid hoses dont stretch the same and it is more a positive feel. I use Dot 5 fluid in mine as it is silicone based and wont absorb as much water as well as not hurt the paint if you spill it. i have this done to both my bikes thought opinions will differ. I also did the clutch like too.

Did you have to change out your seals when you went to DOT 5? I am going to change to S/S cables when I change my pads and would like to change from DOT 3.
