I'm thinking a few inches of two-sided tape and a piece of cardboard would do the same thing, for about 12 cents.

Which Brand / Model is your GPS ?

I'm thinking that the cardboard wouldn't hold up too well in the rain. I think that a piece of plastic from a coffee can lid or the likes would hold up better, and be a little stiffer in the wind. It might be a little more expensive though. Maybe cost 14 cents. :confused24:

my mother in law made a shield out of leather for mine! It just wraps around the edge of the screen as a shade.

Todd, I agree totally. Am in the process of trying to find the right plastic material that is light enough to bend to the shape I want. We have a surplus store nearby that has all kinds of odds and ends....should find somethere there to work.

James,
Checkout http://www.glarestomper.com/
I use one on my Quest II and it works well. It Velcros on around the top and sides, but just to make sure it stays, I also take a length of double sided Velcro tie wrap and run it across the bottom tieing it all together.

For the Whisler GPS I just made one out of that cardboard backing they use on memo pads. Cut it to size and sprayed it with black Plasti-Dip. Attached it with velcro. I'd take a pic.... but I can't find it... It's around here somewhere..just saw it a couple of days ago....??? :backinmyday: :)
