Clearview is THE premier manufacturer of motorcycle windshields. Whatever make and model bike you ride, they likely have a custom shield perfect for your riding style.
They have also been a GREAT friend to VentureRider.org in that they have donated at least a couple of shields for various projects and fund raisers that we have held for our members.

After reading threads about them on here, I purchased mine about 5 months ago. I love it.

Has anyone tried the GT25 on their 86-93 1st Gen. I am thinking of this one and wanted some users input on what they think of this one. I like the idea it is wider then stock and taller as I like looking thru the windshield instead of over it and I am planning on getting the vent in it also.
Thanks

It took a while to get it in because they were having difficulty getting the tent right from their vendor, but it is a great product and really decreases buffeting for my wife and significant improvement for me. I think the extra width has a lot to do with it also. :clap2:

Very easy, even I can do it:cool10:
Remove 2 bolts to take off the chrome trim and then loosen the 6 bolts for the windshield itself and lift it straight out. Takes all of about 5 minutes.

I really like that slightly tinted look to the windshield, but wish Clearviews weren't so expensive. On another note, the '91 I just picked up does not have a stock windshield. It's wider, and maybe a little shorter than stock. Anyone have a idea what aftermarket it is???
Getting ready to order one I just can't decide on the height. I like the stock one but it's difficult to see every time it rains so I'm thinking of going smaller to either the L or med. leaning towards the medium at 19.5" which is 2.5" shorter than stock. Anyone have this size and have good or bad to say?

I purchased a Clearview shield for a 01 Kawasaki Nomad I have. The service and product were top notch and the price was even better.

I installed mine (Med, tint, vent) just a few weeks ago. Now I can see over it, but can still duck down a tad if I want to see thru it. You won't regret it.

I bought the tall tinted with vent and after 4 months and 2 windshields that did not fit, i wish that i never heard of clearview. Raymond
Ray,
That is odd to hear as John has always seemed to give good customer service. I have had 2 Clearviews on my '99's and I loved them. I only had the new one on my latest '99 for 3 weeks before the accident took it out :(

Just checked out the prices and they are less expensive than Yamaha charges, even with the vent. When the time comes, I'm gettin' one.

I tried to order a Clearview last week but they wanted (can you believe this)
for freight to Australia by US Post Office $255 and $392 by UPS.
I ended up ordering a similar ShowChrome screen from J & P Cycles for $50 less and shipping of only $49.40.

Thanks Bob. just out of curiosity how tall are you? I have been estimating am I'm not 100% sure I'll see over the shield even though I'm a bit over 6'.

With the freight cost being too expensive on a Clearview I ordered a ShowChrome from J&P on Jan 24th and it arrived today here in Perth Australia.
That is really good service. Screen took 5 minutes to install and its a perfect height at 4 inches lower.

I have bought 2 Clearviews VROXXX Tinted with vents. (1 for 99 Venture and 1 for 03 Venture). For those looking to save some $, they will sell blems (a shield in which there may be a bubble or spec). In both shields, the blems are VERY hard to notice, and you can save $50 - $100 per shield. 1 shield literally had 1 spec in it. The other had a couple hardly noticable bubbles in the tint. Great shields - great company.

Thanks for the tip. Every shield is a blem after one ride..... :)

I don't see a link to their blems.... Do you have to call them for that info???

The folks at Clearview are great to deal with. I bought a "blem" for my Concours and we actually bartered on the price untill I got a wonderful deal on the thing and you can't hardly even find the blemish. Got the 24.5" light gray 5 pos vent (for a Concours)...and I love it but haven't made the plunge for my Venture yet. I actually really like the stocker on my Venture. Hope you like it!:mo money:
Hey Guys,
Been following the ClearView discussion with interest as my complaint with the stock glass is the reflection I get off the gas cap. Considered the leather cover that is available but thought I would ask if anyone else has this problem and if the Clearview solves it. It borders on dangerous for me on certain days when the sun is in the right position. Some other reflections are also there from the dash that can be distracting. Thoughts?

You will get the reflection off the Clearview also. The gas cap cover is ideal to use. I have the Ponch gauge set also on my 02 RSMV and I need to come up with a visor for them also. I only use my XXL Cleaview in the winter or when on a long trip with my wive. I prefer the ShowChrome shorty for solo riding in warmer weather.

The gas cap glare is worse with the ClearView to me. It seems to be reflected more in the aero dynamic flip near the top of the shield. Since using the leather gas cap cover, it's gone. I never had an issue with the gauges causing a glare. I used to run a chromed dash plate and I thought it would be an issue, but I never noticed it.

I have a Clearview and also got a bad reflection from the gas cap. The perfect solution for me was a black foam "can koozie" that I cut half the height off of. It fits over the cap perfectly.

Back during the winter, I had the occasion to remove the fairing and windshield(clearview xl). All was well until today when I thought since I have no life and nothing better to do, I'd actually grease and torgue(sp) the steering head bearings. Mainly because I was getting a loud 'thunk' when crossing RR tracks and such.
To my surprise every one of the windshield bolds was nearly half way out. Ok no problem, I can handle that.
Then when pulling the inner fairing, one of the 6mm attachment bolts was absolutely seized. ( had to use a hammered screw extractor to get it out.
The question - when is it better to use blue lock-tite and when is it better to use never seize.
Obviously locktite on the windshield bolts. But I don't know if locktite might provide a small amount a anti-seize properties to bolts that have to be tight.

I have to wonder if you just didn't accidentally leave them lose. Over the past 12 years that I've owned my '99, I've never had the bolts loosen and have never had them seize. I would NOT recommend locktite of any kind though as it will destroy the plastic of the fairing.

I painted my gas cap with flat black ... been 2 years now and is still not chipping or flaking off.

It's taken a while, but I've discovered that I can do anything wrong. But I'm not so sure about leaving 6 bolts in a row sticking out 1/2 inch. But - I'm old and can do anything that I put my mind to.

:sign yeah that:
Absolutely do NOT use locktite on or around the plastic stuff.
I have had my windshield snap off, but even when that happened the screws were in there just as tight as I had left them. The shield just 'gave up'.
