The PO welded a piece of 1.5"ID square stock to the bottom of the Bustec hitch on the '91. The square measures 2" on the outside. I can't find a ball mount anywhere. One of the local stores did give me a 1 3/16" drawbar because they didn't even have it listed in inventory.... and it was around christmas... :), but it's pretty sloppy, and is designed to fit into a 1.25" receiver. I've been all over the internet trying to find something, but so far nada.... So.... do they even make a 1.5" receiver?? I guess the options I have would be: <find a 1.5 mount, <locate some 1.5 square tube and make one, <weld some shims to the sides of the gift drawbar, or< cut the existing 1.5" receiver tube off the Bushtec and weld on some 1.25" sq stock??? Whatcha think???

Condor,
I have no idea where you can purchase 1.5 square steel tubeing...but if I were to locate some, how long of a piece do you need??

You can buy about any size square stock you want, just have to go to the right place.

I would be more inclined to modify the receiver so that it fit a standard insert.

Wonder what the previous owner was using?

Jerry

the tubing welded to the hitch is 1.5" acrossed on the inside and 2" acrossed on the outside. I not sure if they go by the inside or the outside when refering to it??. Pro'bly 12" should do. If it isn't long enough I can always use the stretcher..... :whistling::) I have a place here in town, Blue Collar Supply, that deals in surplus metals. I haven't given them a try yet.

That may be the way I end up going Jerry, and probably the cheapest too.....

Hey Condor,
I just stopped in at one of the local auto parts stores here in Huntsville, (Auto Zone) and they have 1.5 inch recievers on the shelf...

Just a thought in that you might want to stop at a local auto store and see what they have ....and you can ask on WHAT they can get from thier hitch people..

There's a couple of large RV stores here in town and I'll check them out next week. They sorta slipped my mind.... Thanks for the reminder. I would have thought I'd have been able to find at least one on the net somewhere??? I hope the stores have them...

Wrong size. I guess I need 2"OD according to the drawing. That tubing's 1.5" outside. I need the 1.5" on the inside. I checked their other auction listings and their too expensive. I'll keep it in mind though as I might change the receiver instead of making a drawbar fit if I can't find one.
